One that we use on every dive - bang fist against head and then point behind you with your thumb - it's our signal for 'head back'. When followed by a shrug of the shoulders, it becomes a question.

since I've watched UK snooker then, doesn't it? No clue who John Parrot is - my recollections go back as far as Hurricane Higgins and Steve Davis! (And of course, coming from Bangkok, James Wattana!) :p However, will now have this particular sign etched in my memory - what a cool, not to mention obscure, way to sign a parrotfish!

Cheers, Phil...

I guess why John Parrot maybe more popular these days is because he is also one of the captains on a Question of Sport - one of the very few programs I miss out here as it is always a laugh.......

I like the head back one - I'll have to remember that one

My favorite is the right hand held horizontally below the chin and waggled back and forth...

Level off here! :)

I'm reminded of an *old* MAD Magazine cartoon on diver hand signals... the only one I really remember was a picture of a diver holding hands, palms together and fingers out, along side his head in a 'I'm sleepy" position... diver had a dreamy look on his face... caption, "Rapture of the Deep"...

... this was coupled with a diver with an expression of agony on his face... both hand grasping the 'groinicological area' and followed by the caption, "Rupture of the Deep"...
