How do electric motors produce ozone?
 
im skeptical that it would cause any damage greater than direct sunlight or general wear and tear - id also speculate that if it did cause damage in any way ot would be immeasurable against the life of a dry suit constantly being immersed in salt water and rubbed against rusty metal or cave surfaces

I know for a fact it causes a lot with drysuit seals
 
Electric motors (other than brushless motors), or anything with any kind of electrical arcing or sparking produce ozone.

Brushless motors don't create ozone.
If we know for sure all of the motors in the area are brushless than yes but better to err towards safer until confirmed.

Of course. Just saying that it can be determined whether the motor in the furnace room would be a problem or not. If it's not brushless, it might even be replaceable with a brushless motor.
