I’m also a new CA diver in the Monterey Bay Area, my wife and i are getting dry suit certified this weekend as we were previously warm water wimps and want to explore the area!
Awesome, and welcome! I hope that you enjoy your certification! I did that recently and loved it. I recently purchased a drysuit and I can’t wait to put that thing to use!

Thank you! I live in Lompoc.
Oh cool!
I lived in San Luis Obispo and also Shell/Pismo Beach for several years but wasn’t a diver then.
I want to go back down to that area and try the shore diving, lots of places I remember seem like they’d be worth a look underwater.
I moved up to the rocky deep gnarly north above SF and still up here. Too much rain!

Sorry for the late reply. SLO is a great area but I haven’t done any diving there yet. I’ve dived Monterey Bay a few times, Catalina Island, and Lake Tahoe. I’m actually interested in diving up north. Do you have any recommendations?
