Hi everbody,
I recently purchased a used dive rite 10 watt can light. Because it is used it came with no manuel or instruction, so I have several questions on maintnence.

First, what do you do post-dive. So far I rinse it w/ freshwater, soak it in freshwater, and let it dry before doing anything else like open the cannister. Any thoughts?

Secondly, how do you store the battery. Right now I am storing it connected to the charger but sometimes the battery feels warm after the charger signals it is full so I have been removing it periodically. How do you recomend to store the battery?

Thanks for the help!

Hi, I've had a 10W Terkel now for almost 2 years and 60 dives or so. I usually rinse it off at the dive site with fresh water, and disconnect the battery before I pack up to go home. Not sure how the DR switch works, but I always seem to knock my switch on if I don't unplug it. Once back at home, I soak it for a few minutes along with everything else and then set out to dry. Haven't had to do anything else, or had any issues yet (knocking on wood).

I normally fully charge the NiMH battery immediatly after I get back from diving and then remove from the charger for storage. If it's more than a week or two between dives, I'll put it back on the charger again for a bit the day before. Otherwise the battery just sits all alone disconnected. Last weekend, I got 3-4 hours out of a charge and it was still going strong.

Hope that helps,
Jason

Thanks for the help everybody, this is just what I was looking for. The only thing I wasn't following was connecting the battery the the charger then the charger to the wall, thanks again!
