I received these lights to test from the Outdoor Equipment Expert” Amazon store. I have a lot of dive lights and my favorite ones tend to be ones that accept the 18650 batteries, the D530 came with one that is able to be charged of a USB-C connection, which I really like. I tested the RED led light which is great when you are trying not to disturb the wildlife. It used to be the secret weapon of many lobster divers, myself included. I no longer hunt lobster, but I do like to look into nooks and crannies along the reef without spooking what might be in there. The light is very bright and I am quite happy with the performance and overall feel of the D530. The D550 comes with 2 batteries and a charger in a very nice and sturdy plastic case. The batteries do have to go back in the charger, but having a spare is always nice. In addition, there is a handle that you can place on your wrist if you want or need your fingers free. I clipped mine on a retractable cable, but choice is yours. This light has a very bright light at highest setting and also a strobe feature, which is nice if you need to attract attention to other dive buddies. I have shown these lights to fellow divers and many have asked where to buy them, or have tried them out, especially the lobster guys with the red one. As a recreational diver, these will be lights that will be staying in my bag. The D530 has a magnetic side switch while the D550 has a tail switch.
