DG,

Pick a day with little or no cruise ships in town, this will give you more leverage. I suggest Sunday as best and Tues to Thurs as the worst days. You will be cabbing places all week unless you are staying in town or an AI. Ask every driver or even better every driver you like or who shows some personality if they will be available on Sunday for the day and how much. Negotiate a price and have them pick you up at your hotel at a predetermined time. This way you can weed out the less than friendly types and spend your day with someone who's company and banter you will enjoy. Some cabbies are full of information and love to share it, other you would think enjly thier job as much as a root canal.

Enjoy

Rich

PS the Cruise ship numbers are down from the highs before Wilma, and most likey will not return to those numbers until all the piers are repaired in a year or more? That being said there are still a number of them during high season.
