Dear all:

I was a snorkeling fan and practice free diving ,

there is no FD certificate or traning organization in Taiwan,

therefore, maybe someone can give me an idea,

how to qualify a Free Diver?

By the deepth he can descend? ( how deepth )

or by the time he can hold his breath underwater? ( how long )

just for personal reference.

usually I practice FD by myself at sea shore of Taiwan east north corner,

with great sunlight and little tide, I can see about 12 meter from surface,

that's not really good but best places I can find.

I knew that against the rule number one,

Never practice Free Diving alone,

therefore I never push self to limits when descend,

and keep holding breath time witin one minute and deepth about 30~ 50 feet.

But still I am interesting to know,

in an official Free Diving classes,

how deep student has to descend to get certificate?

Thank you very much, any opinons can be helpful !!!!

Peter :D

shoot, you go down 1 inch, 1 breath.. or say 25mm, 1 breath.. and I'll give you a freediving certificate.. who do you want a freediving certificate from? Send me $50.00 u.s. and all your pertinent information, and I'll get a certificate in the mail for ya right away... and it'll be official. I hereby certify you....

but, like lbheyman said.. I think padi does a freediving cert

thank you for your fast response,

I just like to konw what is the conditions of a free diver qualification?

Thank you very much for any opinions.

Check the AIDA web page. They have all the info you need.

Then again, you don't have to. Your post on DeeperBlue has already been answered. I'll answer there as well.

Hi Peter,

I'm based in Taiwan and I'm a certified Apnea Academy Instructor as well as AIDA 4*. Drop me an email if you would like to discuss more and maybe we can get together for a dive.

Peace,
