How should fins fit? Specifically, how deep into the foot pocket should my boot fit?

Two pics

Large fin, XL fin.

With the XL, my boot goes deeper into the foot pocket. It makes sense to me that this is preferred. With the large fins, the foot pocket isn't large enough, and the fin sort of sits on the middle of my foot.

You can bash my fins later.

Thanks!

Is it later yet???? Seriously, the XL looks like it fits you much better. And I can't comment on whether the Atomics suck or not because I have never tried them.

go for the XL, your fin should be an extention of your foot. and there is nothing that will bring on the cramps faster that using your toes to swim with. also looks like that was with a wet suit boot, and so if you ever dive with a dry suit or go to a beefy type boot you will need the room.

Go for XL. I have my foot even deeper in the pocket then it's shown on XL picture.
