Houston and Miami are the two hubs for flights to Honduras. We go non-stop from Houston to Roatan in order to avoid the hassles of plane changes, misplaced luggage, and possible over night layovers in San Pedro Sula. This years airfare with taxes was $600....it ain't cheap!

I've been to the Bay Islands 3 times and always flown to SAP from Houston, then made arrangements on arriving in San Pedro for the continuing flight. There's a serious competition between Atlantida, Islena, Taca. Guys will come out to meet your incoming flight as you come thru customs touting their flights. The aforementioned airlines are not, so far as I know, into having their own websites. Think funky, small, propellor driven planes made in strange eastern European countries when the iron curtain still existed. They take off often during the day and you can hardly be more than an hour away from the next flight. Sometimes they fill up pretty good and sometimes they even take off with your luggage with you still one the ground - happened to us anyway while David stopped to try his luck on the ATM before we flew to La Ceiba for the evening.

If you do get stuck in La Ceiba, not a bad little town, the Hotel Grand Paris is the place to be.
