Some studies suggest that where there are large numbers of grouper, there are fewer lionfish.
It's a possibility they could have a predator.
 
I've heard that lionfish and other popular aquarium species have been introduced off of the east coast because of irresponsible dumping of saltwater aquariums. How much truth is there to this?
