:D

There are NO places to stay on Sipidan, unless you are a member of the army or police. They are the only people allowed to stay there. Nearby islands like Mabul are the only alternatives.

malaysia-islands:
I thot it has been discussed very frequently in other threads? And it's Sipadan by the by...

Oh I am sorry...and its 'thought' by the way.

thanks for your help.

really!!!!
LMAO..

whatever, like I said thanks for your help.

Sipidan Island is about an hour or a little more by boat from the town of Semporna. There are no accomodations on Sipidan. You will stay in town and go out for daytrips. In Semporna, there are two places with cheap accomodations: Scuba Junkies Hostel (air con), and the Dragon Inn. The Dragon Inn has cheap dorms with no air con. Scuba Junkies operates it's own dive shop, and has boats to take you to Sipidan every morning and back every night. The Dragon Inn has two dive shops on site, but please read my thread "Warning" in this section. One of them is lousy. Next door to Scuba Junkies is a new, small, locally owned dive shop that I think is probably very good. The owner seems like a nice dude.

You can stay at off-shore resorts closer to Sipidan, like Mabul, Kapalia, and Seaventures, but these are expensive. There is one guesthouse out there, but I suggest staying in town.

OK then, here goes, my hotel/resort collections in Semporna (ppl do not fancy staying in Semporna, in fact, it is frowned upon, but not me, I don't have that much money):

Seafest Hotel: http://www.malaysiahotelreview.com/sabah/hotel/seafest.shtml
Average to good business-class hotel. Cheap rates starting from RM88 per night inc breakfast at Lepa Cafe. In theory, either side of the hotel corridor will be sea facing. If you fancy a carpeted room with functioning a/c, mini fridge, hot shower, built-in wardrobe, and what nots, you should stay here. The hotel does not offer any dive trips. Dive operators are available 2-3 minutes walking away (Scuba Junkies, North Borneo, Borneo Divers, etc)

Seafest Inn: http://www.malaysiahotelreview.com/sabah/hotel/seafest-inn.shtml
For backpackers. Cheap rates but it comes with the price. Interested?

Dragon Inn Floating Resort: http://www.malaysiahotelreview.com/sabah/hotel/dragon-inn.shtml
Unique resort experience. Fairly old building. Old air-cond. Old TV. Unique bathroom where your stew will go down directly into the ocean. Superb ocean view. Rates starting at RM66. Don't think they organise any dive trips. But one can charter a boat for RM350 to Sipadan.

So there...

P/S: Maybe next time I'll stay at Scuba Junkie's hostel. Seems like a great proposition.
