I saw this a couple weeks ago on a night dive, about a foot long(with tentacles) and about 1.5-2" in diameter. Is this a box jellyfish? I heard that there are 4 different species and all are nasty. I didn't touch it to find out if it would sting me or not.

There's at least 20 species of these things.

Where were you when you took the picture? Caribbean somewhere?

Guam, Diving the Tokai Maru and Cormorant.

This was off a LDS boat's friday night dive. I've done the same dive as a shore dive during the day, and with double 80s. A wreck from WWI and WWII at the same time.

That's a good thing indeed... as we say in LA, 'it'd a lit yew up!'
Rick :)
