is this a decent depth gauge?

I have the metric version of the pressure/depth guages - it's fine. As someone suggeted above I use a Suunto SK7 compass & Vyper computer with it - the compass is really worth the investment.
 
My dive buddy uses that console with a mares m1 wrist computer and it works just fine. I like it because when I grab it and turn it around at 60 ft, I can read it. I can't read my brother-in-laws big buck cobra.(it's hard to see the screen). What i would suggest is using it now, if you find something you like better later, hang onto it as a backup.(i'm renting a spg for the weekend, my console computer is in for warranty),good diving & remember, you can't have 2 much STUFF!!!!!
