Well... in ScubUNO, when someone is supposed to yell "Uno," he/she waves his/her pointer finger around so everyone knows he/she is yelling "Uno." To say "you sunk my battleship," couldn't you use a different finger?

Oh, I'm sure we could come up with an alternate, but recognizable finger gesture...perhaps one that, say, I use a lot whenever I lose at/get cheated out of winning a hand of Scubuno?

I guess you and your partner/enemy would have to know the alphabet in sign language...or you could use my method...I like to look at the other players board and just point to the space I want to hit!
