We went to the Jupiter Star ( 165 fsw ) as wind had died
down, waves 2-3 ft, NO CURRENT on top, mid-waters
or bottom, well over 100 ft VIZ, and bottom temps in
the 80s. Tied to her bow, the massive side-laying freighter
looked more impressive than ever, now that she could be
seen and really appreciated...at least the forward third of
her structure...from the anchor point. The wreck appeared
gracious as we swam through her interiors. She did
confess to us of her loneliness of not being visited by
many divers as other, shallower wrecks are. We promised
her to return more often and give her the attention she
deserves. It must have been one, if not the best, deep
wreck dive this year. We plan to make the Jupiter Star a
regular in our dive schedule for the upcoming techie courses.

Run times past one hour went flawless, with all Deco
profiles picture perfect and Ariel as safety diver with
extra gas for anyone short...unneeded, thanks to good
planning. Two very large remoras kept everyone
guessing where their host could have been, but it
never showed up. A 40 lbs black grouper escorted
us through the belly of the Star as a tipless tour guide
...the engine room still awaiting.....

Not the right place for this post, but I like the description! I too, dive the Jupiter Star. As a matter of fact, a couple of us from the board here are diving her on Tuesday. Are you interested in joining us?
