I've been using a digital still UW camera for about a year. I've been looking into doing video as well. I started looking for housings for my Sony TR103 - but I'm really more impressed by the JVC housings - smaller, much lighter...

Some are really inexpensive. I almost got a wr-dv89u but discovered that the gr-dvm80 and 90 got bad reviews for reliability. Too bad as a complete system (ebay camera/JVC housing) is about $600.
I decided to splurge a bit and picked up a gr-dvm76u and housing:

Yea the total price is is about $800 for the camera and housing - but the whole system is a lot more compact and lighter than a comparable system housing my Sony (top dawg....). One other advantage is that the flip-out monitor is visible from the back and you do not need a separate monitor back.
Anyone else used this type of housing?
