Come join us on Saturday July 29 between 14th -16th Court on AIA
between Oakland Park Blvd and Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, at 7:00am
for a kayak dive and breakfast. Please bring a breakfast item to share and
your own drinks and chairs. We will have two tents set up and a table for
the food. The current ocean temperature is 85, so there are no excuses not
to dive! Try to get there before 7:00am for best parking.

What if we don't have a kayak, can we still beach dive?

Yup, there is a decent 1st reef ledge within a reasonable distance.

I wish we could be there. We will be in Virgina.

Oops, sorry, I knew that, what I really meant was could we join in the fun and dive with y'all if we don't have a kayak. :blinking:

You are more than welcome to join us.
Normally I have a 2nd kayak to offer newcomers,
but it is accounted for already.

It is the Kayuba dive club, but we're a very friendly bunch,
often with more than enough goodies to share.

One of these days I need to dive that 1st reef ledge along with my handheld GPS
on the kayak and map out the staghorn populations off that area.

Thanks for the link. I'm in the process of researching kayaks and this info is very helpful. It doesn't mention if any of them can handle a 25hp Merc *lol*.

I know a couple of your members, Chris and Jim, they are actually in town for a while (but you probably already know that!) Thanks for the info, I'll try to make it! A kayak is on my "to-buy" list but this year's windstorm insurance increases pushed it waaaay back. :(

Chris and Jim ..... don't believe a WORD they may tell you of me.
Especially any sober stories. Odie is one of my bestest pals.

Kayaks, I swear by Scupper Pros with the tankwell and front hatch,
but everyone has their preferences,
and some newer designs are just as sweet.
