Lake Mohave is a great lake dive! Especially if you want a little bit of visibility in a lake dive. We easily had 30 ft. We started our dive to the left side of the Jet Ski launch heading back into the cove. This is at Cabin-Site Cove. We ran across the van with in a couple of minutes and from the van I scanned around and was able to see a dark section in the distance that was the bus. (Rob, has details on his web site)

There were three thermal clines. Water was around 85 at the surface, dropped into the 70’s under 20, and down to 68 under 45 ft. Felt good since it was over a 100 up above.

The bottom comp starts as rock and drops quickly turning into some sort of a Jell-O like wiggling silt. The good thing is that the vis is good enough to swim off the bottom. No bottom hugging like most lake diving

We had fun and will definitely go back. Hopefully soon with a few more Lake Pleasant divers.

Sounds like you had a great time, Craig. We'll have to plan a trip up that way sometime soon. Maybe when it's not so hot above water, though!
