Reading another post brought the following anecdote from my instructor to mind....
He had a student once that did not see the need to learn to clear her mask. She asserted that she would never let water into it. Instead of trying to convince her of this, he just started clowning under water until he got her to laugh...
That was all he needed to convince her to take the skill seriously
