I know that I stay away from any sealant/goop until absolutely required.

I'd first suggest the trim and shave method, then borrow a purge mask. I can live with a little seepage knowing it is a trade off for the gorgeous lip foliage that makes me the sexy dive god that I am. That and it is a pain to get goop out of the stache, and it definitely removes the chance for any romantic surface intervals.

I think I saw a Trident product that was for stache leakage, other than that probably Silicone grease. Of course, you could always check with the LDS. As M_G said, check to see that any goop you choose to use is safe for your gear. Especially the silicon skirt of the mask.
