Hey guys is there any place in south fl I can shore dive for lobsters? Also what is the best way to look for lobster in south fl? Thanks a mil

You can beach dive and hope to see and catch lobsters off any beach between Hallandale and Deerfield Beach. Parking availability is your biggest factor. Make sure you have your license WITH you, yes, even on a shore dive (you can attach it to your flag). You also HAVE TO have a measuring device with you underwater.

The best way to look for them is to look for a slim stick waving out of a hole, it can be their antenna. They are easy to spot on a night dive as their beady red eyes will reflect back on you.

I STRONGLY suggest that you look into this group, they are beach diving maniacs and great hunters. Gold Coast Scuba Divers (954) 616-5909 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) - Meetup.com

Good luck, they are fun to catch!

Do NOT listen to this person Debby.
There are no lobster left in SE Florida.
Our reefs are dead, our fish are gone, and there are no lobster left after mini-season every year.
It's a known fact.
There will be lots of Chamber of Commerce Boosters that will come on this thread and tell you I am not telling the truth, but they are mostly liars thieves and socialists.
You should drive to Pensacola and shore dive for lobsters, and also do that deep hole off of Jacksonville where there are giant Maine Lobsters that will jump into your bag.

:spit: :rofl3:

I was really hoping nobody would let that secret slip about shore diving for lobster in Pensacola. Darn, there goes the neighborhood. =8^) }}

thanks a mil guys i guess i will just drag behind the boat loooking for rock piles

What, you have access to a boat and you wanted to beach dive? You will probably score more of them via boat.

I've been finding a lot of small ones around LBTS off shore, and none north of Dania pier (havnt tried south) From the boat around the LBTS area and south of there on the reef we managed to find quite a few, but again a lot of small ones. Just keep lookin for their attennas sticking out from below rocks ;-)

Every year right before Miniseason all the Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Lobster line up and march to the Keys. THey all move down to Monroe county until next year. THis is why everyone goes to the keys to catch lobster.
