I think I've finally narrowed my BC search down to the Sherwood Luna or Genesis Athena. Both have gotten good reviews on the site, and I'm looking for a women's intro level BCD.

Can anyone suggest why one is better than the other? Are in the same price range from what I can see. Going to Cozumel in a few weeks and want it in hand before I go! Thanks!

There are pretty close to the same - and although sherwood gives us different pricing rules for listing on our site - they both sell for about $300...

The difference is the Athena pockets come up and out farther - the will sort of "hang down" when you are in a diving position. It kind of looks goofy - but does make the pockets easier to get into. The Luna will wrap around a little more like what you are probably used to. Also the Athena has more of the lift in the back - while neither is a true back inflate BC... for that - go with the Zeagle Zena (great BC!) but the Sherwood is very conventional wrap around while the athena is sorta', almost half and half back inflate.
