what is the quickest way to get to Utila...we live in the US in the state of MD. Any info would be great! Thanks!

Pam :07:

Through Houston (sat) or Miami (sun) to Roatan, ferry over by commercial vessel or by resort pickup, either that or from mainland of Honduras (connecting thru Belize... no not direct from Belize).

Call 800 282-8932 at Roatan Charter, they know the drill.

Hi Pam,

Fly to San Pedro Sula (airport code SAP), Honduras and fly SOSA or one of the other smaller carriers to Utila. You will most likely transfer planes in La Ceiba, but it's a breeze.

Do some searching at travel.yahoo.com for rates to SAP. The fares on Continental look pretty good and you arrive into SAP early enough to catch one of the little planes out to Utila.

Here's a few links for you

Sosa Air

Atlantic Air

Islena Air

Lucky you! You can make it to Utila in one day! If you have additional questions feel free to email me or post a message here.

Have a great trip.

Eric

Pam,

The quickest way to Utila is to get to San Pedro Sula in time to connect with an early afternoon flight to Utila,(Usually thru La Ceiba) I live in Houston area so my preferred way is a Continental flight to San Pedro, pick up my baggage and then go out to the local airlines..SOSA, ATLANTIC and ISLENA. I check at all the desks for prices and departure times. I usually arrive at Utila about 4:00PM. Until we get settled in for the longer haul, we usually stay at the Hotel Rose for the first few days. Located directly across the street from Deep Blue Divers, The Island Cafe and the Coco Loco Bar.

Have fun,
