3000 Grand... Dude.. I could build you something for less than that. My first ROV cost less than that to build and I had to buy all the tools to do it with first.

I could build you something for less as well if your time window is more than a couple weeks.
 
Nah, $3,000 falls well within the expected price range. Take a peek in any scientific catalog, and prepare to be flabergasted with the inflated prices. It's no wonder that many oceanographic facilities have their own in-house machine shops to build their own stuff.

Harold, if you can build ROV's at one-third the going rate for basic models, you need to set yourself up a little factory and advertise!
