Missing diver near Britannia Beach. There are four main dive sites here. If the photo in the news article is taken at the site where the diver is missing, it is the site called the "Pipe"
It's a straightforward dive to 100 ft., but one can go deeper. The pipe ends at just under 190 ft. and the vis at the end of the pipe is bad due to the discharge.
Just noticed the second photo is at the other dive site by the art gallery. There is a wooden structure formerly used as a breakwater. No problems in the past, but it is an entanglement hazard.
Missing Britannia Beach diver - British Columbia - CBC News
A man is missing in the waters off Britannia Beach after a pair of divers became separated during a Saturday morning excursion.
Squamish RCMP and 20 volunteers from Squamish Search and Rescue have been searching for the missing diver since he failed to surface.
Police have shared few details but say the missing man went on an excursion with what they describe as a diving professional mid-morning of September 26.
The pair became separated under water and while the professional surfaced the other man — who a friend describes as Australian — did not.
Sonar equipment and a drone are being used in the search, but so far there has been no trace of the man at the popular diving area.
