Hi,

A brief intro about myself, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes late 2006 (with type2 diabetes for 7 yrs) and have been diving every week since certified in early 2005. I have received clearance from my doctor for rec diving due to my adequate control of my illness.

Recently, I have decided to take up cavern and sinkhole course and have been recommended a cave instructor (CI) by my dive club. I told the CI about my condition, the CI suggests that I get a dive clearance from a hyperbaric doctor. I made an appointment with one, and was every lucky enough to get a hyperbaric doctor who is a certified cave diver himself. The doctor cleared me for the cavern and sinkhole course, and told me that if the other hyperbaric doctor or other doctors had seen me, they might have not given me the clearance for the cavern and sinkhole course.

I really want to know who here have diabetes (regardless of type 1 and 2) and dive cave regularly.
