A friend of mine has a old US Divers Conshelf 1st & 2nd stage w/octo. He will sell it to me cheap. As long as I have it checked out by dive shop what are anyone's opinions as to using this older setup?
Any opinions would be appreciated!

what model conshelf? they still have parts for all of them that I know of.It is hard to beat a conshelf 14 brass and chrome reg, very simple and bullet proof.

I will try to find out...one black and one yellow, both plastic exterior for sure.

I persl. don't buy used regulators,,,,but if you do purchase, just ensure you have it rebuilt by a reputable service tech and test dive it locally.

It's an SE2, 1st and 2nd stage.
Per my original post, if I have it checked/rebuilt by a dive shop, any opinions?
Thanks

The SE2 isn't a "classic" in the sense of the still-manufactured Conshelf XIV but as long as it checks out OK, I'd have no qualms over letting my kids dive the critter. (and I'm awful fond of my kids!)

I'd have it serviced and checked by a reputable/ qualified diev shop. Then I would treat it exactly as I would a brand new reg. I would test dive it in a shallow pool to make sure everything is OK!:coffee:
