P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Interesting, John - but why woudl one want to dive with Sea Hunt regs when they own much better gear...? :11:

Yeah, you're gonna' have fun on SB forums. Always good to see someone radical come in. :lol2:

I enjoy the old gear, mostly because it brings back the memories of when I first breathed under water. I do the bulk of my diving with newer, mostly tech style gear. Still get a kick out of the double hose, as most new divers dont even know what it is. I have the first reg I ever owned, a 1962 vintage Calypso. Just had it rebuilt, and I cant say that any of my high dollar units breath any better. There is very little new out there, just refinements of the old. What troubles me most about diving today is the drive to certify divers in such a short period just to get them into the dive shops. They dont become divers, just dive consumers. I even saw an ad recently in the left column of this forum advertising getting certified in a day!! Scary.
