Snorkeled the baseline rocks at Old Home Beach. The surface was nearly flat, for multiple days prior. A boat fisherman said out at the tip of Trinidad Head, he could see down at least 15 feet. For me visibility was a definite 5-10 feet, better than my last dive, so no losing your buddy in the gloom, if you're careful. At second base, off of Old Home, I dove as deep as I could, at least 10-15 feet, wore some extra weight to stay down. A flat rocky bottom came into view and unfortunately sea urchin barrens. The kelp is eel grass in the shallows, mostly feather boa in beds further out, and some bull kelp in small beds. I pulled down some bull kelp and urchins were definitely attacking it at the base. Little monsters!
