Oxygen cleaning goes a bit further than your usual visual inspection. This can easily be done at the same time. What needs to happen is cleaning the tank of hydrocarbons using detergent (Simple Green), glass bead or gravel to agitate, and hot water then tumbling or rolling the tank. The tank is then dried and the valve replaced using oxygen compatible lubricant and oring. One other important part is valve disassembly, cleaning, and re-assembly with proper oxygen compatible components. This is discussed in better detail in the tank forum. Another invaluable aid to the nitrox diver is the Oxygen Hacker's Companion by Airspeed Press. I highly recommend this book to answer these types of questions. It is alot easier if you are able to get your nitrox by continuous blending up to 40%. Hope this clears it up a little!
