As usual, I try searching before I post up (I'm a Mod on a bike forum and paintball forum so I know how it goes  ).
There seem to be a plethora of PADI instruction facilities but not SSI. Can anyone recommend a good place in Fort Lauderdale or not too far? I have the OW but now want to move on and do Diver Stress & Rescue and continue on the path. Later on I do plan on cross-training to NAUI and PADI but for now I figure I should complete the SSI curriculum. Advice?
I searched the SSI webpage and came up with these:
http://www.nektoncruises.com/
http://www.underseassports.com/
http://www.diversdensouth.com/

TIA

Go to

A little farther north, but worth it: US1 Scuba in Pompano.

I dove with these guys in the keys before: George Yates 305-798-6969. They are out of Miami. They do SSI and Naui. Real nice strong divers. Capt Slate in Key Largo is also SSI.

I heard that Force E shops in Pompano Beach & Boca Raton have dropped PADI and gone SSI. Might call and check it out with Skip or Cathy the owners.

Last time I was at the Force-E in Rivieara Beach, they hadn't done SSI yet, but were thinking about it. The only place I know of *for sure* that does the SSI speciality classes is Scuba Works in Jupiter - might be a bit of a hike for you, though :(

They're great people, who I did my SSI cert with.

Regarding the search. I think SSI isn't included in the list of 3 letter words that are indexed. You might want to post in the Site Support forum requesting Tech Admin to add it in..

True. They are officially SSI now...

Hey TIA,

Miami might be a little far for you but Divers Den in Kendall does the SSI courses. I did my OW and AOW with them and will highly recommend them.
