When you say the "cuff of the glove simply goes over the DUI Zip seal "ring"," are you referring to a glove that simply stretches over the Zip ring? One without a ring system of its own? Those seem popular now. Less hassle than ring systems. Which glove did you buy?
 
I use 5mm Dry-Five gloves. They have a dual seal and are somewhat water proof but still get wet and are much warmer than most gloves. They can be a little hard to put on. Use talc.
 
I use the XS Scuba Dry-Five (not the same as the DUI with similar name) and agree with the above about taking them on and off (similar struggle) except that I use a spray bottle with a little baby shampoo and water to lube my hands up instead of talc.
