Wayward Son:
What & where is Cypress?

I still haven't dove Morrison. Might be possible for me to make a run down there & dive one day this weekend.

Cypress is a little spring on Holmes Creek that puts out some big water, like 96 million gallons a day, which is why its always clear - even when the rivers are over a bankfull. It has basin 120'ish around to depths of about 30'. Lots of freshwater fauna including a few types of UW plantlife. There's also a cavern that goes down to 50' where it restricts a bit and goes to 70' before restricting alot and winding out of sunlights way into a cave. Beautiful spring, but the land around it is privately owned so you have to take a small boat or canoe. Vortex rents canoes. When the water is high enough, above 6', I've been taking my little 10' Zodiac. There's another spring further downstream called Becton, that I think could make a pretty nice dive for killing the remainder of a tank off - not really worth an entire tank though...

Morrison isn't so bad right now, looks like tannic crap from the surface, but because the tannic water is so much warmer than the cooler spring water, its not mixing. So after you descend past the tannic water, you get pretty good visibility, just not awhole lotta light. The big cavern at Morrison is pretty damned big and very very cool :D The smaller cavern makes for a decent deep stop  During the winter, when the river water is as cold or colder than the spring water, it mixes, making for some nasty visibility when the water is over 4.5-5' it seems...

SeaYoda:
Keep me up to date and I'll do the same for you. I'm wanting to get in the water and the Mrs. has nothing on the Honey-do list.

It looks like I'm open for the spring dive, what day is best for you? Sunday? Monday? Cypress? Morrison?

Monday looks good for Cypress. Gulf-Gulper is going too. Anybody else want to go?

Right on, I'll be there. I think Darcy'll be there too.
