You know how it is... you research like crazy on the gear configuration you want, buy it, & later wish you had something a bit better. I really like my Oceanic Veo 250 in the gauge set, with the compass on the back - compact & easy to get info at a glance. The only problem is, whenever I want to download info onto my PC, or simply want to review the dive log from the DC, I have to lug the whole regulator set to my room to do so. This is particularly cumbersome on live aboards when the reg set is on the tank for a week. I've checked my dive shop, & two 'net based suppliers of Oceanic, & found the perfect quick disconnect console, but they all say you have to buy the entire set - they won't sell just the quick disconnect hose & pressure gauge with the DC & compass spots empty. I looked at a quick disconnect converter that Oceanic sells, which mounts to the 1st stage. Not good - there's way too much stress @ that point.
