Hi
I recently purchased a new xtx50 with a DST ?? 1st stage. Are there any special requirements for the octo being this is an overbalanced 1st stage ?? Also what are the port thread sizes on that 1st stage ??

Thanks

Ideally, you should use a pneumatically-balanced octopus with an over-balanced first stage. All Apeks octopi, including Egress, are pneumatically-balanced and fit the bill nicely.

If you were to use a simple, demand valve octopus, it is possible that at deeper depths, depending how the octopus is tuned, the octopus could start to leak out of the mouthpiece. This would start as small bubbles intermittently escaping from the mouthpiece as the medium pressure in the hose begins to overcome the spring tension in the octopus.

HP ports are 7/16" and MP ports are 3/8" (all standard to the industry)

Hi Tom

thanks for your quick reply. I actually did order the egress this morning to go with my new setup..can,t wait. Also correct me if wrong..the DST is the standard 1st stage that comes with the standard xtx50 yoke regulator setup is it not ??
