IMHO - Coiba is the best option in Panama. I did it as a special week-long trip on Yemaya (coibadiveexpeditions.com) and as a one-day stop on each of my three trips to Malpelo. Highly recommended.

Hi Susi,

I dive regularly in Coiba, mostly with MV Yemaya Liveaboard gives the option to explore most of the Archipel. There is an amazing amount of fish to see, Hannibal Bank may be breathtaking, thousands of snappers and you loose the orientation. Furthermore the kayaking experience in the mangrovewoods along a river is very nice and with some luck you may see howler monkeys and saltwater crocodiles.

Between July and October is humpback whale season.

You may get more information here or on our blog.

All the best
