Hi C-of-W,
Sorry I missed your original posts- I'm from the Port Hardy area, and we were out diving March 1st at Browning Pass HideAway, and the 2nd at Bear Cove! We must have just missed you! It's great that you had some good dives, and were able to get out with Markus to 5 fathom- good eyes seeing the wolf eel on eggs! ...and a great experience!

I live in Terrace (not to far from Port Hardy) and the thought of diving in a place like youve explained makes me salivate. Please if anyone else from this area does some dives, post and give us an overview. I hope to get out that way yet this fall, or next spring. Cheers

Spent 4 days there in July, went out with both Sun Fun Divers and North Island Dive and Charter. Both operators were excellent, they know each other and were very helpful, not super competative like some areas I've been to. I would recommend either.
The dives were fantastic, viz was never less than 40' and often 60' or more. we saw Wolf eels at Dillon Rock, an octopus right out in the open on Browning wall, and tons of Orcas and Humback whales during the surface interval. We also dove 5 fathom rock, Stubbs Island and a wicked drift dive through the Plumper group. I can't wait to go back. The video I did of the trip was the best I've done yet.
