i've used the pro-ear mask extensively. in summary, if setup correctly, it will keep your ears dry. it is easier to setup with short (or no!) hair. even then, leaks do happen. for this reason, i think using the pro-ear in situation where it is critical to keep your ears dry (i.e. ear drum perforation) is foolhardy and you shouldn't be diving anyway.
i'm not sure i believe the claims that it makes equalisation easier. pressure is pressure whether it is exerted by air or water.
i've never seen one for sale in NZ, but it's no big deal ordering from aussie/USA/UK. i order most of my stuff from abroad because NZ is so f****** expensive!
