Hello,

I am looking for the DIR approved routing method of a 40" primary hose. Please do not turn this into a debate of 40" vs. 7ft. I have both and would like to try the 40 for shallow open water dives. This will be on a Halcyon 40lb Eclipse with stainless plate, Apeks ATX50 seconds, and DS4 first.

Also, the www.gue.com site doesn't list a DIR-F class any closer than Florida for this year and none for 2006. Does anyone have a lead on when the course may be offered closer to North Carolina?

Thanks for the advice,
Paul

Contact MHK here on the board. He is a GUE instructor in California. Most DIRF classes are set up by the students.

I won't comment on 'proper' usage of the 40" hose outside of stage/deco bottle usage because I don't use one and am not entirely sure that it's considered DIR anymore, especially when there is no downside to using a 5', 6' or 7' hose.

There is no DIR way of routing a 40 inch primary hose. Use the 7 footer.

Under your arm and into your mouth.

Better ask George on the Gavin scooter list.

Is he back from Jersy yet?
Yep...or I guess so because he's posting again.

Jeff:
I did some searching on the scooter list and found no refrences to a 40 inch primary. Did you see this topic raised or was your comment to ask George mearly a suggestion?
