anyone recommend a particular Fiji liveaboard? Second, is it even worth it in Fiji to do a liveaboard as compared to landbased package on Taveuni. The liveaboard is more expensive than Taveuni (although more dives on the liveaboard). Thanks in advance.

Hi Solomon,

While there is some very good diving off of Tavenui, the best sites in Fiji can only be reached by live-aboard, e.g., E-6. Also, often times land-based in Fiji means just 2 AM dives. When I travel that far & pay that much, I want 4 dives a day, on average.

The Fiji Aggressor just moved to work Tahitian waters, and the Aggressor fleet is now using the Sere ni Wai http://www.aggressor.com/snw_home.html to dive the region. This is an excellent boat, and I highly recommend it. At present, your other choice is the Princess II, which IMHO is just OK.

I adore Fiji diving, and I suspect that you will, too.

Hope this was helpful.
