Question for folks diving doubles

When you are diving from a small boat, how do you reboard the boat? Do you remove your gear in the water and have the boat crew lift it aboard or do you climb the ladder with the gear on?

Yep.
Most of the time, from a small boat, the ladder isn't sturdy enough to handle the full load, so the doubles get hauled aboard separately. (On some boats we climb up the foot of the motor then over the transom - I definitely let the young strongbacks haul the doubles aboard on those)
