This was an amazing spectacle to behold!

A mass release of gametes of the sponge Neofibularia nolitangere occurred simultaneously along the leeward coast of Bonaire the afternoon of 04 October. There is a strong correlation between the lunar cycle and the timing of gamete release, which begins on the third day after the full moon.

Great Fun!

Neat video. Been to Bonaire 6 times, last time was last week of August, and already itching bad to go again. Real nice color on your squid close-up footage; love those guys.

Richard.

I was snorkeling in front of Buddy Dive and saw the same thing...wasn't sure what I was looking at at the time, but it was definitely cloudy by the sponge bobs.

Nice video...remember, no video/photo is work touching the reef over or getting so close you bump it.
