Can anyone recommend a good place to have my Mares regulator serviced in Tokyo.
Model: Mares Abyss 22 (1st and 2nd stage) with a Mares Proton octopus and Mares Airtrim BCD.

It is difficult to navigate the services without Japanese and the once I found were very expensive!

Thanks for your help!
Mat

Thanks! Anyone else?

Actually I went to these guys and got quoted Y30,000 for the overhaul including the change of the octopus even tough nothing wrong with it just a bit older. So looking for another option before deciding what to do.

Hi Matt,

There are a couple of inexpensive service vendors. I'm not sure about service qualities with them.

Osaka city
工賃基本料金|ダイビング器材オーバーホール

Okinawa pref.
オーバーホールの料金・納期・保証 | ダイビング器材のオーバーホール

Wakayama pref.
料金システム / 西日本ダイビング器材オーバーホールセンター

You can ship your gears using a door-to door delivery service to them.
Anyway I think you need a Japanese friend to take advantage of those services.

Thanks for your replies guys! Much appreciated. I went with Scuba Repair in Ikebukuro a few days ago. They seem nice and pro and reasonably priced. If it doesn't work out I will conditioner shipping my regs outside of Tokyo with the help of some Japanese friends.

Cheers,
Matt
