At Relay For Life events, communities across the globe come together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors who will celebrate another birthday this year!

On June 1st, they have made the Relay a Scuba Relay event and Team Force-E/Vone Research wants you on their team!

OUR team will supply divers at timed intervals starting at 6:eek:o am and ending at midnight and we dive off the shore in Lauderdale by the Sea. This is not a race nor is a competition we are here to dive. We dive day and night because Cancer never sleeps. We dive for the ones we have lost, we dive for the ones struggling to beat Cancer, and we dive for those who have won the battle against Cancer. Each team will put a diver in at timed intervals and they will go out and dive. You can dive with other teams and you can bring your dive buddies and cancer survivors to this event. We are here to have fun and raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Go here to sign up for Team Force-E/ Vone Research:http://main.acsevents.org/goto/forcee
select "join an existing team" then select us! You don't have to make a $100 donation to join the team...but any $ amount would be great!

Every diver must be certified and capable of a beach dive. Every diver must sign a release & have a buddy (or pair up with someone). Bring all scuba equipment, including tank and dive flag. Every night diver must be advanced & must have a light and a glow stick or strobe.

If you can not attend or just want to donat to our team go to this link and select donate to a team and pick Force-E/Vone Research, thank you!

Interesting to find this thread. I guess I'm not around this forum much.

Well, at the end of the day we more than doubled the goal for the event, netted more that 7x what last year's R4L event did in LBTS. Not bad since most of the day we had rain, and a lot of the land events (and the main band) were canceled due to the Wx. What we do have is a great foundation to build on for next year.

Here's a link to a video of the event....

Great video, looks like a good cause.

Thanks everyone... the American Cancer Society is a great cause and we've already begun planning next year's event.

It will be a little earlier in the year to minimize the chance of rain. We have some great ideas for the SCUBA portion, and will begin fundraising across the state soon. Although the event will take place in Lauderdale by the Sea, this will be an "all divers welcome" event. Stay tuned.....
