Why wouldn't you change it? If you're at 10 feet with 1000 psi left you've got plenty of air -- doesn't matter that it's less than your 1300 psi rock bottom at 100 feet because you're not at 100 feet anymore...

I guess it does highlight that the way divers normally state rock bottom as "rock bottom for this dive is XXXX psi" is overly simplistic or sloppy phrasing...

So... for you folks using Rock Bottom recreationally... do you change your RB as your multilevel dive progressively gets shallower?

I carry a plastified printout of lines 10 downwards of the 1st sheet in this Excel file. This sheet is set up for my wife's SAC which is higher than mine. Other users would need to adjust it.
This sheet plus either my computer or my dive table makes it easy to know how many bar we need to start up with.
I just add the number of minutes at the stops.
Obviously if we are in or near deco, or deep, I pay a lot more attention than if we are already shallow at the end of the dive.
