my wish list on bn.com is bulging at the seams...

i just wanted y'all to know that i've been following. thanks to all who answered.

I really enjoyed Neutral Buoyancy by Tim Ecott, fantastic book.
Just finished The Dive by Pipin Fereras, an interesting read about freediving but I wasn't keen in the writing style. Very sad story though..

Currently reading The Fireside Diver, edited by Bonnie Cardone. Its a collection of stories by different divers and its good, some wonderful tales being told! I keep laughing on the train to work, much to the other commuters consternation!

Great to see such a long list of things I haven't read yet though - Thanks everyone for sharing. I have taken notes!

also i noticed one of the posters said Inca Gold was a good scuba fiction book, so i ordered it for a penny from amazon.com market place. total cost was 3.50 (shipping costs)

Clive Cussler has 2 books out that are non-fiction, The Shipwreck Hunters & The Shipwreck Hunters 2. Both are about his own searches for wrecks. He tells the story of what happened to each wreck, dramatizing it well, then tells of his search for it. Both are very good reads.

knotical:
Diving Physiology in Plain English, an entertaining (really) physiology book by Dr. Jolie Bookspan.

That is one great book!

Here are some of my favorites about corals and fish identification and behavior:

World Atlas of Coral Reefs by Mark D Spalding, et al
Reef Life: Natural History & Behaviors of Marine Fishes & Invertebrates by Denise Nielsen Tackett and Larry Tackett
The Reef Identification Set: Reef Fish, Reef Creature, Reef Coral by Paul Humann and Ned Deloach
Reef Fish Behavior: Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas by Ned Deloach
Corals: A Quick Reference Guide by Julian Sprung
Dangerous Marine Creatures by Carl Edmonds

"Stars Beneath the Sea" by Trevor Norton

"Marine Salvage, the Unforgiving Business of No Cure, No Pay" by Joseph N. Gores

"Marine Salvage Operations" by Edward M. Brady

Here's an oldie I picked up at a bookshop in Sri Lanka. It's by Arthur C. Clarke. "Reefs of Taprobane." Now resident in Sri Lanka, aeons ago he went there for scuba diving. Back in the days of no BCD's, ...etc. A real interesting read about wrecks/reefs there, and how diving was yearssssssssssssssssssssssssss ago.

My favorites:
Helldivers Rodeo
The Last Dive
Shadow Divers
Deep Descent
The dive (free diving)
Fatal Depth
