Yes you can switch underwater, it also advises when to switch according to depth, I.E. when you ascend to a maximum operating depth of the mix according to the set PPO2 in the next cylinder the Smart Tec will advise you to change to the next gas mix. It then calculates your NDL or decompression times according to the mix you switch to, you have to confirm the switch by first of all a quick press of the first button on the Smart Tec which selects the next transmitter once regulators have been exchanged you then confirm by a long push on the same first button. The Smart Tec is setup when first turn on it will select the first cylinder, which will be the lowest Nitrox mixture, then it will select the D (decompression mix) next, if you want to go to a second main cylinder you give the first button a short push to select cylinder 2 then a long push to confirm the switch. It selects the cylinders in this way due to the fact that you may only use two cylinders (main tank and a decompression mix). If you were to use one or two cylinders you set the O2 % of the cylinders not used to - - on the Smart Tec, allowing only the cylinders with an O2% to be selected.

If at any time you change to a different mix and forget to confirm the change, the Smart Tec will calculate NDL and decompression according to the mix in cylinder no. 1.

Thanks, PDM. IMO, that feature is much more attractive to me than the digital compass in D9. Gee~, I have already had D9...
