I have PADI certs from open water to rescue and a few specialties. I thought all my instructors were good, educated and had great skills. Recently, I started diving through a SDI shop. It was not untill then did I really start my education. I have taken several specialties and qualified for SDI advanced and Master Scuba diver. PADI advanced diver is a joke compared to the SDI advanced program. And that is what it is... a PROGRAM, not a class. If you want advice from someone who has had experience with both programs, take the SDI classes. I think you will become a more educated diver.
