Saw that on another board. I usually snorkel Looe Key every year. Lots of people visit this spot.

On the other board, there were postings by two individuals close to the rescue. Once it was apparent what was going on, a nurse grabbed a tourniquet from the first aid kit, and swam over to the other boat to help. The father was concerned about being able to get him in quick enough as he ran over some coral heads trying to get to his son. They transferred him, his mom, and the nurse to a faster boat which brought them in.

The other two boats (father of the kid and family of the nurse) then followed. By the time they arrived, to the marina, the boy and his mom were already transferred to the ambulance and heading out.

The boy is quite lucky that there were people nearby willing and able to help out like they did.

It is a good thing there are news reports, otherwise no one will believe him.
