how far down Baja? that's nuts. I am still trying to get to Loreto for the whales.

North of Loreto 4hrs by truck. Santa Rosalia is where we launch out of. We see whales all of the time. For some reason in Baja I have personaly found the whales very hard to approach. Any sound of a boat will make them dive. Whale Sharks are a different story though. They are pretty slow and mellow as long as you are. We see mostly finback whales. Lots of Mahi Mahi (Dorado) also. We got to swim with whale sharks about 5 times last year.

Interesting list. How was diving in Cambodia?

Okinawa and Guam, taking a trip to Palau and Saipan in July.

I've dived in San Diego, and the San Clemente Islands off Los Angeles.

Diving in the kelp forest is neat except one can get tangled up in them upon surfacing, which happened on my very first dive. My diving buddy got his tank all tangled up and I had to lend assistance.
